A survey released
today suggests 68 per cent
of people in the United States and 54
per cent in Canada would be unlikely
to purchase a card to avoid showing a
passport at land crossings by the end
of next year. About a third of people
surveyed in each country who don't
have passports said they'd be less
likely to cross the border, a sign of
an impending blow to tourism that's
been estimated at nearly a billion
dollars in the U.S. and twice that in
Canada.

Over 20

the Conservative Party of Canada,

Council for National Policy (CNP), an
American group that the
New
York Times calls a “club of
a few hundred of the most powerful
conservatives in the country,” and
which Rolling
Stone reports has
“funnelled billions of dollars to
right-wing Christian activists.”
